In atrocious weather conditions on 3 October 2010 Tejvan Pettinger of the Sri Chinmoy Cycling Team retained the G.M. Brennan Trophy he won in 2009 for the fastest ride, in a time of 7 mins, 27.3 seconds, 14 seconds outside the course record he set in 2009. In second place was Matt Clinton of www.mikevaughan.co.uk in 7’44.5″; third was Dulwich Paragon rider Matthew Pilkington in 7’51.5″. First junior rider in 8’30.7″ was Jonathan Knox of Herbalife/Wheelbase. The Flossie Mitchell Cup for the fastest female rider was won this year by Sarah Hartley of Blackburn and District CTC.
Several riders reckoned the weather conditions – heavy rain and a significant headwind at the top – took around 30-40 seconds off some times, so congratulations to all.
